Do Canary Care sensors have cameras or microphones?
No. Our technology has no cameras or microphones, but offers all the benefits of around-the-clock visibility.
We use a range of sensors – monitoring movement, temperature, vibration, and more – to give you a full picture of how someone's getting on at home.
If something doesn't look quite right, you'll be alerted straight away.
Do vulnerable people have to wear anything for the Canary Care system to work?
No. We pride ourselves on being non-intrusive so our most vulnerable can be independent safely, without sacrificing dignity.
Vulnerable people just have to live how they normally would, with the added comfort that their loved ones or carers can keep an eye on their routines, and be notified if anything changes.
Do I need Wi-Fi for Canary Care to work?
You'll need to connect the Canary Care hub to a Wi-Fi network when you install it.
Once it's up and running, you don't need Wi-Fi to use the system.
What if my circumstances change after I’ve set up Canary Care?
Canary Care is designed to be flexible, so you can easily adjust it if your situation changes.
If you move house, no longer need monitoring, or want to change how the system is used, the equipment can simply be unplugged and reinstalled in a new location.
The sensors use adhesive strips and don’t require drilling, so they can be removed and refitted without damage.
Can I change my Alert rules?
Yes, you can change Alert rules, notification settings, and what you want to monitor at any time through the Canary Care Portal.
If your needs change — for example if someone becomes more independent or requires closer oversight — you can adjust which sensors are used or add others to the system.
If you need help making changes, our support team can guide you through updating your set-up, Alerts or account settings.
